The purpose of this American Century Oral History Project is to collect and preserve the memories, perspectives, and first-hand experiences of the terror attacks on the United States on September 11th, 2001. The interview was conducted with Elisabeth Bumiller, then a White House Correspondent for the New York Times and is now the Washington Bureau Chief for the New York Times. This project converged primary and secondary sources to create an objective account of one of the darkest days in the history of the United States.
